Aria Polymer Optical Brightener Masterbatch, known as Aria Add® 2161 is formulated for films, fibers, sheets and other polymeric products based on PE and PP. This masterbatch covers a wide range of applications such as melt blown, melt spinning, extrusion and recycling. Aria Add®2161 can eliminate yellowing and discoloration of polymeric products. These masterbatches can improve appearance and make products brighter and clearer.
Polymers are widely used today for a variety of applications such as production of films, fibers, injection parts and other products. But over time, the polymers are destroyed by UV absorption or visible sunlight and the degraded products absorb blue light and cause the pieces to turn yellow. Since the appearance of the parts is of a great importance to the producers, getting yellow and discoloration has an adverse effect on the customer and makes manufacturers concerned.
Optical brightener masterbatches are used to fix this problem. They absorb light in UV and violet range (340-370nm) and reemit that in blue region (420-470 nm), so they can cause the appearance of polymer brighter, clearer and whiter.
These masterbatches postpone the process of changing the appearance of the polymer and also eliminate the yellowing of the polymer surface. As a result, the polymer appears whiter during the service and also Optical Brightener improves properties of white masterbatch coating which naturally means a better and more elegant primary color. Using an Optical brightener masterbatch can also lead the product to have a smooth, shiny and glossy surface.
On the other hand, In the process of recycled polymers, the presence of masterbatch improves the color of the components produced.
