Processing Aid Masterbatch
Aria Polymer Processing Aid Additive, known as Aria Add® 2121 is formulated for films, fibers, pipes and other polymeric products based on PE and PP. This masterbatch covers a wide range of applications such as melt blown, melt spinning, extrusion coatings and recycling. Aria Add®2121 can eliminate melt fracture and fish skin, reduced die build up and gel production, improve the film surface and also increase production yield.
Today, the use of thermoplastic polymers for the manufactures of various components, fibers, home appliances, films, etc. is increasingly widespread. Most of these products are produced by extrusion or injection technology.
In these processes, the polymer is exposed to high temperatures and high stresses, but the rheological properties of the polymer make the polymer not easily processed and its surface becomes defective and disordered. For example, polymer melt suffers from melt fracture, transparency reduction, gloss and surface damage, under high stress.
To help overcome this problem, processing aids are added to the formulation of polymer products.
A processing aid softens the surface of the molten resin, so its processability will be improved. Processing aids can also be internal or external, i.e. play a role in the bulk of the polymer or migrate to the surface. Polymeric Processing Aids (PPAs) are widely used to improve the processability at high shear rates as well as to enhance the processability and surface properties of polymer materials.
By consuming PPA, in production of PE and PP films, fibers pipes, etc. instabilities such as melt fracture and die build up will be eliminated, so the production process becomes easier and reduces machineries depreciation, pressure and temperature, and energy consumption. Using PPA causes and increase in production rate and life time of machines. Products manufactured by PPA have a better printability and better surface appereance.
Aria Add® 2121 is for PP and PE based products, and causes:
