In fact, the non-polarity of Polyethylene and polarity of most fillers used for property improvements, results in substantial incompatibilities between polymer and filler and this incompatibility prevents proper distribution of polymer matrix and consequently leads to composite properties reduction. Therefore, it is so essential to use a proper coupling agent such as PE-g-MA, to produce a Polyethylene-based compound and mineral fillers with proper properties.
